We have our new camera!!! Now we just need to get back into the habit of using it! Actually we have lots of pictures to share from our last four blog masters (unfortunately they didn't write about them- so if there is a comment, it is from Jordan...) Pictures by: Finn, Lincoln, Gabby, and Trent

Quilting, quilting, quilting... thanks to all the many (large and small) hands that have helped!!

The bookmobile has been broken down for quite awhile now. Our faithful, long awaited bookmobile ladies have valiantly carted in loads of books into the entryway for the kids to pour over.

Ever so carefully making the desserts for the auction...

What is produced and where?
Gabby finds out where corn is produced

Poor Zoe, ouch.

Grammar boxes... little cards with words that the student matches to a sentence. Each word is color coordinated with its role (noun, verb, etc). The child then acts out the sentence, and then diagrams the sentence with symbols that represent the various parts (nouns, verbs, etc). Could you have done that when you were six?

More dessert making for the auction.

Finn, on his birthday!

Ian and Trent are finding the lowest common multiple with...

Christmas Times

Merry Christmas!!!
We hope you all had a merry Christmas and a great new year's celebration. Welcome back to school and a snowy start to 2010. We had two days of school and now have had two snow days!
The lack of updates to the blog has been a sad an unfortunate thing for our students. Jordan's camera (which we have been using) has gone missing. This leaves our blogmasters unable to do their work, and Jordan rather anxious. So, for your enjoyment and continued shared experience in our classroom, Lincoln and Kallyn have agreed to share some of the work they did right before and after the holidays.

Kallyn's Gingerbread House
I love my gingerbread house. My door is made of hard milk chocolate. My window is made of peppermint. What kind you ask? Why spearmint of course! The trees are made of assorted kinds of bubble gum and vanilla milkshakes. The flowers are made of assorted lollipops. The driveway is made of rock candy. The huge lollis are a ride! The icicles are made of icing. The swirly lollis are door posts. The chimney is a Hershey kiss. I think mine is great!

Lincoln's Story and Picture

A Christmas Time
Once upon a time Santa hired gingerbread men to give out sweets. They live in a gingerbread house. They had a candy garden. Santa came every day. Sometimes Santa ate some candy from the house, but nobody noticed. He took some more. When he took a bit it grew back and all of the candy was free. He gave all of the sweets to all of the good boys and girls.
***Sneak Peek at the writing:
1. You need imagination.
2. Think of the name.
3. Ask somebody to edit.
4. Rewrite.
From, Lincoln

(Note from Jordan: Yes, Lincoln really write ALL that in his story. We aren't sure why he included the writing process, but I'm sure it will be very useful to everyone else who would like to write a story. I will now attempt to type it in his spelling so you can enjoy it as much as we did. James in the upper elementary actually helped Lincon with the editing of this story.)
